If they let those kids in, there will be a new generation with unprecedented empathy towards the LGBT+ community. I think they did it because the Q15 really believes 'by their fruits ye shall know them.' They know that kids with married LGBT+ parents will know their family members are not evil. I don't think it is just to protect against lawsuits.
